FEATURED VIDEO: mightyfrogfilms - Another scene from John Somers's interactive theatre production, "Difficult Labour", performed by excellent young actors from Exeter University - the Zigger Theatre Company. In this extract, Catherine finds her rota requests have been ignored by the bullying manager and, when her back is turned, her friends play a hurtful "prank" on her. Based on real cases, this fictional account encapsulates the way undermining and bullying takes place at work. The actors are all students from Exeter University: Amanda McGuire, Nazli Umit, Sarah Evans and Claire Matthews. The clip is from performances at the Tim Field Memorial Lecture at Aston University on 8th November 2008 and at Newman University College, Birmingham, on 7th November 2008. Advice on the scenario was provided by DAWN (Dignity At Work Now) and OxBOW (Oxfordshire employees Bullied Out of Work).

FEATURED VIDEO: derekw6826 - This video provides the facts about psychotropic drugs and the huge profits they create for the pharmaceutical industry. These drugs are not safe and have not been on the market long enough to provide sufficient long term studies regarding their effects. These drugs do cause addiction, however most "doctors" would call this dependence because you do not have to take an increasing dose over time. They are completely fine with you being addicted to the same amount of any given drug on a daily basis. Over half of the people that commit suicide in the United States are prescribed to psychotropic drugs. (Ex: Paxil, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Seroquil, etc.) Quick Facts about Psychiatry

FEATURED VIDEO: It's not always easy to know if you are being bullied. After all, it can be really difficult to get on with absolutely everyone you work with. You may have colleagues who are bossy or demanding. Supervisors might get angry if you don't meet targets or the necessary standards. However, if the criticism is constant or if it focuses more on you as a person than the work you do, then it may have crossed the line into bullying. Think, too, about how your workmate's actions are making you feel. Are you being physically injured or emotionally hurt? Are you continually being made to feel stupid or incompetent? Do you get put down, no matter how good a job you do? If so, it could be that you're being targeted by a workplace bully. You don't have to put up with bullying at work. Sometimes you may be able to talk to the person and ask them to stop especially if they're not aware of how they're making you feel. However, if you're not comfortable with confronting the bully, or you find that talking doesn't make any difference, see 'What next?' for other actions you can take. Bullying at work

FEATURED VIDEO: FEB 23, 2011 - Pink Shirt Day! Why Pink? It originates from an incident that happened when two Nova Scotia high school students organized a school protest in sympathy with a new Grade 9 boy. The boy had been bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. The two students handed out pink shirts to all boys in the school, making a non-violent statement that bullying will not be tolerated. FEATURED VIDEO: This video was created by 18-year old Matt Bendo and 17-year old KJ Proulx from Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada. While we have deliberately put effort into drawing attention to the video and more importantly to the message it sends, I think the real appeal is that it was created by two teens. In 36 seconds, Matt and KJ portray the impact of cyberbullying and more importantly the need for young people to take action if they see it or are a victim of it. Pull the Plug on Bullying

Bullying is an abusive treatment, the use of force or coercion to affect others, particularly when habitual and involving an imbalance of power. It may involve verbal harassment, physical assault or coercion and may be directed persistently towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexuality, or ability. The "imbalance of power" may be social power and/or physical power. The victim of bullying is sometimes referred to as a "targeted individual" (Wikipedia).
